The Lusitanian Celtic League, who we are
The Lusitanian Celtic League was founded in 2009 in order to promote the knowlege, use, and appreciation of the Celtic Cultures and languages in Lusitania. Local Branches of the Lusitanian Celtic League will meet in an National Congress each year in order to help further these aims.
Further information about the Lusitanian Celtic League of Lusitania and Celticia will be available. A list of the contact addresses and local activities of the KKL will be available as well.
Information and links about the Lusitanian people and Lusitanian Nation are available. Information about other Celtic countries is also available. The Lusitanian Celtic League (KKL) should not be confused with the Celtic League, Celtic Congress, and other international organizations, although some of those organizations share many common objectives like us.
Aims of The Lusitanian Celtic League
The principal aims of the Lusitanian Celtic League (KKL) is to contribute,
as a nationalist celtic organisation, to the struggle of the Lusitanian people
and Lusitanian Nation today under portuguese rule, to self-determination and
national liberation, and to secure or win our political, cultural, social and
economic freedom. This includes:
Fostering co-operation between the different cultures
and peoples of our nation.
Developing the consciousness of the special relationship and solidarity between
them.
Making our national struggle and achievements better known abroad.
Campaigning for a formal recognition of Lusitania as an autonomous region within
the Portuguese Republic and as a distinct nation in the Europe of the minority
peoples and nations.
Advocating the use of the national resources of Lusitania for the benefit of
our native people.
The fundamental Role of the Lusitanian Celtic League (KKL) in Our National Liberation Struggle against the portuguese colonialism and oppression, is:
On an internal level, the role of the Lusitanian Celtic League is secondary
(with our total support) to that of the other Lusitanian nationalist organisations
and parties which work for the rebuilding of our Lusitanian Nation. Also, on
the internal level of the portuguese society, we should let other people know
that the native Lusitanians are determined to assert their Celt nationhood and
that they have original contributions to make to the achievement of more satisfactory
relations between different communities and individuals from different ways
of life. We are non sectarian, we are Celtic lusitanians.
At an international level we should promote exchanges and facilitate acquaintance of people from different Celtic, Iberian and European nations with one another to strengthen our solidarity with all the peoples fighting for national liberation.
Each people and nation is conditioned by a different history and so we must not expect uniformity of thought but insteadf allow diversity to express itself within the Lusitanian Nation. In this way, we may better recognise those areas of possible co-operation and eventually formulate a detailed common policy. With this we can work out which kind of relations between our communities will enable them to enjoy freedoms and liberties at both individual and community level, within the Lusitanian Nation.
